DESCRIPTION
Close your eyes. Take a sip. A little bit of Spain. Experience the Achterhoek!
The fertile soils of the Achterhoek, its ideal climate, and the patience of a craftsman who waits out every season. That is what you taste. Our ancient grains—grown on our single-estate land and enriched by the manure of our Dahomey cattle- from the beating heart of this whisky. Powerful. Honest. Unmistakably from here.
And then Spain arrives.
After quietly maturing in a 225-liter oak cask that once held Vino de Naranja—one of Spain’s most characterful dessert wines, made from white wine macerated for months with dried peels of bitter Seville oranges—our whisky has found its second voice. The sweet bitterness of the orange peel merges with the warmth of toffee, while a chilli spice finishes the story like an exclamation mark.
This is no ordinary whisky. This is a meeting between the Achterhoek and Andalusia. Between ancient grain and ancient craftsmanship.
Exclusive bottling. Bottled at 53% ABV — unfiltered and without added colouring. Every sip tells a different story.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: The familiar scent of our ancient grain opens the glass—warm, earthy, honest. Then a gentle wave of sweet orange peel and toffee follows, makes you curious for more.
Palate: A firm ancient grain backbone leads—the Achterhoek in a single sip.
Then the Vino de Naranja unfolds like a warm welcome: orange peel, citrus and soft toffee.
Finally, an unexpected, vibrant chilli spice jolts the palate awake.
Finish: Long. Warm. Spicy. Ancient grain and citrus keep each other companay long after the glass is empty. A finish that makes you long for the next sip.
