Racka, also known as “Eau de Vie from Grape Pomace”

Racka is made from the leftover grape pomace after winemakers press their grapes for wine. This pomace consists of the skins, pulp, and seeds of the grapes. From this, we distill a beautiful “Racka.” For them it’s a waste product, for us it’s a wonderful spirit!

What is called grappa in Italy, we call Racka. Racka is also the name of an ancient sheep breed originating from Hungary. A distinctive feature of these sheep is their long, spiral-shaped horns. These sheep once roamed our fields together with our Dahomey cattle.
